A message signed with love, to the nation of the Crescent

“So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah’s Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah’s Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost…” (Quran 47:4).

The recent attack against our Egyptian brothers and the promise of Isis to take Rome and to fill the seas with the blood of the Christian nation, has grieved me. Not only has it grieved me because I know that my brothers are being beheaded for their faith in Christ, but also because this group of Muslims has declared war against the true God and against the people of God. I want so badly to hate these people for what they have done, but I have no right to hate; especially when, in the past, God has used persecutors of the faith to accomplish His purposes and when, in the past, God has forgiven those who have had the blood of His people on their hands (e.g. Paul).

I only have one thing to say to these Muslim Militants as they declare war against my brothers and sisters: how can you judge enough to commit such acts when your holy book claims that to God alone belongs judgment? Coincidently, the same holy book requires you to judge and make wars against Christians and against Jews.

There is a human condition that is exhibited in your action. By beheading my brothers and sisters you prove, even by the standards in your book, that people are completely depraved, imperfect and unable to judge rightly in this world. In your action you prove that we cannot have a place with God without God’s intervention and without atonement for our sins. You, on your own, are just as lost and in need of God’s saving grace as the rest of the world. Do you not realize that there is need for a messiah that will return us to God? Does your book not admit that Christ is the messiah? If a messiah were required for our being returned to God, would this messiah not need to be perfect? Is not God the only perfect being? The messiah must be God, for only God is perfect and only God can judge.

Why must you declare war against God by killing His very people, the people who have believed in God’s messiah?

You may take it upon yourselves to judge the world, but I will leave it to the only one who has the authority to judge to determine your fate. It stands, what you do is wrong and God, both in the Quran and in the Bible has given the nations authority to stand against injustice and to wage war against those who value their own judgement over the judgement of God.

My heart is broken today. God, please forgive them.
