The Bible Series, Episode 3 Interaction

In May, we started watching the Bible Series again. This time with our church family at Grace. I wanted to share a few reflections on each episode.

Episode 3

There were quite a few minor details that were off in this episode, but the theology was more accurate to the Bible than the previous two episodes. Just because a detail is minor does not mean that it is unimportant, merely that it is not as pronounced or has little bearing on our theology. God does lead us in ways that we do not understand and Samson’s strength really was from God to be used for God’s purpose and plan. Samson really did struggle with following God rightly and submitting to God as we all do. God’s strength really is made evident in our weakness.

The worship of pagan gods really was for the purpose of selfish gain and the true God really is the king who is the determiner of all things for His glory, not the glory of people. The way that the story unfolds makes that fact unmistakable. Samson was used from a position of weakness and did not get to survive. This story can be found in Judges 13-16 and our series through the book of judges can be found at christoa.com by searching for “Judges” or selecting the appropriate category. An exegetical commentary can be found by clicking “Daily Devotional” and searching for “Samson.”
