How Church Should Feel

In the local church at Corinth, there was much gossip (probably secret or ambush meetings), divisions, inflated disagreements about politics, and people who were living in sin and causing division were being elevated over those who tried to honor Christ with their lives. All too often, local church environments today are as terrible or worse–even worse than the world outside the church walls. Those who are addicted to pornography are made deacons, those who cause division are the ones sitting on committees, and the church has become a way for some people (I dare not call them Christians) to seize power rather than serve the body, and even what appears to be service is a form of flattery and manipulation rather than servanthood. This is not a problem of religion but of humanity. Sadly, many local churches are filled with unregenerate people in need of the Gospel–unregenerate people who leak the political mentality of the world into the local church. As Paul admonishes the local church at Corinth, he instructs the body of faith about how things should be for the congregation–and it doesn’t quite agree with majority organizational religion.

Please enjoy this free download containing five lectio-continua, expository sermons of 1 Corinthians. I pray you benefit as much by listening as I did in my preparation and preaching. Please don’t forget to support this resourcing ministry so I can continue doing what I do for the kingdom.
