What and why is church? Is it Mass, with pomp and circumstance? Is it really us offering ourselves in ritual to God? Is it the sacraments or confessions? Is it musical praise followed by a sermon? Do we go to church to please God? Are we trudging our way to Heaven on the paths of religion? Or, has Christ come to us to save the world? What we believe about Christ determines what and why… and for what purpose we believe the church is. Here’s my statement: The church was made for man, not man for the church.
