    The True Christian’s Focus

Paul is writing in order to admonish the Corinthian church toward unity through maturity in the faith. In Chapter 7, he admonishes them toward contentment because contentment facilitates growth to maturity. Now, Paul explains why contentment is advantageous in this life. Listening to Hypocrites

It is Fig Monday during Passion Week. Jesus’s rabbinic knowledge has been tested. He upheld Torah and proved wiser than the Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees who exceeded Him in their religious status, formal education, and physical age. Jesus now turns to the crowds who have been watching His exchanges with the religious leaders of the…

How Much Authority Does Satan Actually Have?

In the prelude to Jesus’ public preaching ministry, He has been led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil. Tonight we will observe the third and final wilderness temptation. As we work through the text and consider Matthew’s (and Jesus’) use of the Old Testament, we will ask this…

Many Are Listening and Criticizing, what is the response of the teacher?

I love the teaching of John Macarthur. I respect him highly as an expositor. I am thankful for his ministry. This week, we will read about…

Did the Father Forsake Jesus on the Cross?

Submit your questions on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or using the contact page. This question was asked by one of our church members following the Easter holiday. I want to address the question as biblically and as honestly as possible. Logically, we know that it is impossible for God to be separated from Himself. We also…

Listening to Preachers: be careful little ears what you hear!

We all build our kingdoms in houses of brick. We furnish our homes and make sanctuaries for ourselves. Jim built his own home, got married and lived happily for three years there. One night as he and his wife watched television he went to turn the channel and his brand new 4K, suspended flat panel…

Response to “Jesus is Loving Barabbas – Judah Smith Sermon Jam”

I keep seeing this video and I guess with this being Holy Week, videos like this one will be popular. I wasn’t sure why at first, but this video just doesn’t sit well with me. I’m sure Judah Smith (the lead pastor of the City Church network in WA) is a good guy, but this…
