  • Is Marriage Really That Sacred Anyway?

Throughout all of history there has been a separation between the way that the believer views certain ideals and the way that the unbeliever views those same ideals. Within their certain worldviews, there have always been disagreements even among like individuals as to the implications of these ideals. As such, I…

  • How We Should Listen In Church

This last week, Good Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC held a human scheduled revival in which we prayed for God to move. Though I am not sure the true benefit of having a human scheduled revival, I am sure that asking God to come and to move has…

  • Trusting in Tongues

This last week, Good Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC held a human scheduled revival in which we prayed for God to move. Though I am not sure the true benefit of having a human scheduled revival, I am sure that asking God to come and to move has powerful consequences, even if we…

  • I’m Disappointed in how Christians Relate to Politics.

Recently, I wrote a briefly about a concern I had regarding a defense of the Second Amendment as a right to civilian ownership of firearms.[1] I received several messages and emails regarding conversation about the second amendment. What I did not receive, that I hoped to, were comments regarding matters of our Lord, Jesus Christ,…

Do we have a right to criticize others and to what degree? What does…

  • Where science encroaches, God is driven away.

We hear this statement on a daily basis, though perhaps not in so many words. My question, though, is not whether or not science and Christianity contradict one another. My question is whether or not this scientific stance against religion is a relatively new stance for people to take. For…

  • Rational and Irrational (thinking atheist?)

If there ever was a point at which nothing existed, then there is nothing to truly learn and education is irrelevant. This is why all intellectuals must believe in some sort of eternity; else they are living contradictions. A vast intellectual community in these modern times seems to hold fast to the idea that nothing…

  • Are You a Steve?

Today before church, my wife and I went to Bojangles to have some supper with some friends. While we were eating, someone sitting at the table adjacent to us turned and asked us a question concerning the gospel of Christ. He classified himself as an agnostic that believed in the existence of supernatural/unexplained events. He…

  • Is it possible to be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good?

There is a statement that rings throughout western Christianity, “We can be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good.”[1] Surprisingly enough, western Christianity is the only Christian philosophy that issues such a statement. The statement is used to defend our acceptance of this world’s culture. It argues that the best…
